The Lost Poem

The following poem is one I did not do. I found this in a book and it was a poem folded up on a worn down piece of lined paper. i believe it is written from a boy to a girl. But i decided to post it for it is a wonderful poem. enjoy!

Our Bond,
Flaming like the fires of inhibition,
Compels me to explain my feeling for you.

Like drops of honey falling from the ever burning sun,
Which shines almost as bright as your golden hair.
And which, as far as I can tell,
Shined only so the world can see your face.

I cannot quite put a finger on what makes you glow in my eyes,
Your perfect skin? or your rosy cheeks? or your eyes,
Burning like ice, looking into the very window of my soul.
I am lost in the meadow of my heart.
